Over the last two decades, reuse has become a central element of the urban architectural agenda, embraced by both public and private players and fully promoted by the Brussels Bouwmeester Maitre Architecte (BMA). But while circular construction is now a major trend, it can take many forms: from the reuse of materials to the conservation of structures, not to mention the future adaptability of new constructions.
To find out more, join us on Thursday 3rd October 2024 at 19:00 for the launch of The Architecture of Reuse in Brussels, a new book published by BMA that explores 14 projects in Brussels, each offering its own different vision of circularity. This publication sets out to demonstrate that circular architecture is not a niche. Our ambition in Brussels is make it a mainstream practice.
The book features projects by 51N4E, AgwA, ATAMA, Anyoji Beltrando, Archipelago, Atelier KANAL, Atelier Kempe Thill, B2Ai, Babini Geysen, BC architects, BC materials, Baukunst, Callebaut Architecten, Conix RDBM, evr-architecten, Kaderstudio, Karbon’, Label, NU architectuuratelier, Ouest, Rotor, Schenk Hattori Architecture Atelier, XDGA.
It is co-authored by Kristiaan Borret, Ben Dirickx, Michaël Ghyoot, Corentin Haubruge, Caroline Henrotay, Jérôme Kockerols, Colm mac Aoidh, Anton Maertens, Lorène Morenval, Jean-Guy Pecher, Mark Tuff, Frederik Serroen, Jitse van den Berg.
